About Me

I describe myself as a “butterfly photographer” because I flit from subject to subject taking a photograph of anything that attracts me. I enjoy being out in the landscape pressing the shutter but I get particular satisfaction from seeking out abstract images in man-made and natural objects that look like landscapes. My FRPS panel was a good example of this.
Although many of my successful images are “straight ones”, I have had particular success in exhibitions with my more creative images and I enjoy altering reality by manipulating images in Photoshop or Corel Painter.
I am a member and Hon Vice President of Stokesley Photographic Society having served as Programme Secretary, External Competitions Secretary and Competition Secretary in the past. I am currently the society’s Secretary. I am a Permajet supported lecturer and an invited member of GAMMA PhotoForum. I also actively participate in the United Photographic Postfolios of Great Britain (UPP). Currently I am a member and Secretary of Circles 73 (a print circle) and 81 (which is purely for photographs taken on a mobile phone or tablet).
I gained my FRPS in May 2007, EFIAP/s and EPSA in 2011.
